GLoGtober #2: Blood

In accordance with the post-a-day challenge by SunderedWorldDM, whose dreams bore the Orbseeker and whose deeds send the world shuddering.

We have a visceral reaction to the sight of blood. In life, it is a sign that something is wrong. In fiction, blood with a strange quality or in a strange place tells us that something truly strange is going on. And yet, blood is often used simply as a meter of how hurt antagonists are in many roleplaying sessions.

First, give non-humans colors of any and every improbable shade(s.) Let the blood be gritty, runny, sticky, slick. Remember that blood, like snow, is a dynamic thing that even in the real world has a dozen different expressions.

  1. This feels like it goes hand-in-hand with the Vayra treatment... I wonder if you could make a d100 super-table of "what does it bleed" between all of today's options! I'm particularly a fan of asphalt and cottage cheese, the mental image is strong with those. Maybe roll this once or twice and make a monster based off the results? Thanks for sharing!
