The Song of Yosan, and Faiths of the Legamon World

"I shall attain the pinnacle, as no two climb the same mountain

Their attainment is my proof, their refinement is my own

No mortal man may Legamon know who does not walk the Earth

Legamon-- both master and layman may attain them

but only the master is destined to attain Legamon

Alas, the layman is very dear in a world rife with peril

Through Legamon, I shall attain all things.

True intention fails without true action

The lesson of the master is not the lesson of the student.

Through Legamon, I shall attain all things

I attain all things through bright battle daily

and my deeds my right display.

Beside me stand, my band full-potent

Arms in arms, waging dreamt-of war

Through Legamon, I shall attain all things

Beside me stand, on the other hand fate

Legamon, laymen are very dear in a world rife with peril

Through Legamon, I shall attain all things

True intention fails without true action

The lesson of the master is not the lesson of the student.

Through Legamon, I shall attain all things"

-from The Song of Yosan

Among the faithful it is generally held that the world exists as a BALANCE of many TYPES of matter-- FIRE, WATER, EARTH, ROCK, STEEL, FLYING, and the like, all things in balance as humans balance their concerns with nature and nature's legamon through pastoral isolation. Leaders of great cities establish great gyms in reverence of the world, and the greatest among these are dedicated to one TYPE of matter. By pondering the components and correspondences of the world we become closer to it, which is the greatest thing lowly folk an aspire to. For some, there is a greater calling. They are called to armed pilgrimages, visiting each kind of gym in each great city, and through connection with their own legamon they demonstrate mastery of that gym's type in ritualized combat. Still others remove themselves to nature, living as mendicant professors, sages, and learned scholars. The symbol of BALANCE is an equilateral triangle with part of the right side removed.

In hideouts and shaded groves, others mock this wisdom. Idolators and backsliders, these CABALS hold to the pursuit of power through cold analysis, seeking always to strengthen their legamon through type selection or breeding while strengthening themselves through reason or pursuit of wealth. In ancient times, a figure called CABAL LEADER STRIKE formed the CABAL FIERY-FLAME-TONGUE (or TEAM BLAST in modern vernacular.) This CABAL came to control much of the known world through war, suppression of the nobility, and invasive reforms until right rulers reasserted themselves. It is STRIKE's success that modern cabals attempt to emulate. The symbol of ancient CABALS is a down-facing arrow, derived from a plant with three reeds.

Among certain remote communities, the love of balance and the love of power are equally meaningless. These EIDIKOSTICS teach the PHYSICAL is evil and base, a perversion of the SPECIAL REALM which is our true birthright. Through self-denial, reverence for spirits, and anti-ecological praxis, they believe that they begin to transcend their PHYSICAL bodies in favor of SPECIAL ones, in the vain hope that the world can be escaped. It is against their faith to establish a homeland on Earth, a principle put in practice when they rejected the power offered by now-ruler MAYOR MARCEL to preside over his town. The symbol of EIDIKOSTICISM is a circle within a larger, bisected circle.

Also, some people calling themselves PTISISTS claim that everything is made of FLYING. They proselytize, fund scientists and militias, and undertake ORB QUESTS, and their symbol is a bar with points hanging off of it.
